We present a few pictures of the dozens upon dozens of American Diabetes
Association (ADA)
Expo attendees who joined FAIR at our Detroit ADA Expo in Novi,
Michigan. We join
with all exhibitors in being most grateful to their ADA Marketing Manager,
Lou Vader, for the
commendable manner in which he handled the exhibitors and
thousands of attendees.
We are also extremely grateful to two of our FAIR members in Michigan, Debbie Green,
and
Pam
Sienkiewicz, who staffed our booth, signed up the new members and took
the photos
as well. Thanks, Pam & Debbie who you see below (Debbie on the left,
Pam on the right)!

A diabetic or family member joined FAIR every 2.3 minutes all day in protest of
bio-
medical research funding for diabetes of $39 per patient compared
with $2,774 for each
HIV/AIDS patient even though diabetes kills more Americans than AIDS and
breast cancer
combined. FAIR pointed out that in the most recent MI reporting period,
HIV/AIDS deaths
have fallen to 90 percent to 56 for the full year compared to 1,259 for
diabetes. (Diabetes
was a contributing factor in 2,736 additional deaths in MN.) We thank
all the new members
for their support on this issue and for our efforts to
achieve new organ-donor policies to reverse
America's organ-donor crisis of 75,000
patients with kidney
illness waiting for the "Gift of Life"
and hundreds of thousands more in dialysis but not even on the waiting
list yet.

FAIR's Debbie Green (far right) welcomes five new FAIR members!

Pam's signs up yet another supporter!

Debbie signs up another new member
who holds our brochure in his hand!
