The Loma Linda University School of Dentistry (LLUSD) operates 76 mission dental clinics that are associated with the worldwide Seventh Day Adventist church. LLUSD maintains active student programs on 10 external sites which treat approximately 2,500 patients per year and the students travel to 15 countries each year that have limited or no access to dental facilities to treat an additional 3,500 patients.  At the 2006 Commencement ceremonies there were a total of 179 graduates:  91 Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degrees were awarded to students from the United States, 17 D.D.S. degrees to International Dentists, 42 Dental Hygiene degrees and 29 were Advanced Education graduates.

Twenty-one D.D.S. graduates scored 90% or above on BOTH Part I and Part II of the National Boards.  88% of the 2006 DDS class passed the Western Regional Examining Board licensure exams on their first time taking the test, and 93% of International Dentists passed this exam on their first time taking the exam.  

Additionally, the graduating class of 2006 has pledged to volunteer 656 hours a month to the under-served in their communities. 

Dr. Goodacre can rightfully be proud of his school’s graduates, as we are proud of his membership on FAIR’s Board of Directors.
